Labels and load sheets
Printing thermal and A4 labels, what the barcode carries, how to keep it scannable, and what a load sheet is for.
A parcel without a QCS label cannot be collected, because every operational step in the network is a scan. Print the label after booking, stick it on the largest flat face, and keep the barcode flat and clean.
Printing
- 01From one parcelOpen the parcel at /m/orders and use Print label. The PDF is generated by the worker and downloads when it is ready.
- 02In a batchSelect parcels in the Booked tab and print together. One PDF, one parcel per label, up to 500 labels in a request.
- 03Choose the paperThermal is a single 4 by 6 inch label per page for a roll printer. Sheet is A4 with up to 4 labels and cut marks, for an ordinary office printer.
- 04Check one before the runPrint one label, scan it with any phone barcode app, confirm it reads the tracking number, then print the rest.
What is on the label
Printer settings that matter
- Print at 100 per cent. Never fit to page, never scale to fill.
- A thermal label prints at the printer’s native 203 dpi. Do not rescale in the driver.
- On A4, keep the page margins the PDF declares. Borderless mode shifts the grid.
- Print in black and white at full darkness. A faint barcode is a rejected scan.
- Direct thermal labels fade in heat and sunlight. Keep printed parcels out of a hot van window.
Load sheets
A load sheet is the paper record of what you are handing to a rider: one row per parcel, the parcel count, the total COD and a space for both signatures. Print it from the pickup request once the parcels are forwarded.
- Why it exists
- If the rider scan count and your sheet count disagree, the sheet is the written record of what you presented.
- Who signs
- You and the rider. The rider app records the same handover digitally, parcel by parcel, as each barcode is scanned.
- What happens to a parcel not scanned
- It bounces back to your Booked tab with a reason, and it is not on the rider’s manifest. Nothing is assumed collected.
Reprinting
Reprinting is unlimited and does not change the tracking number. If a label is damaged after collection, the warehouse prints a replacement from the same record.
Questions we get asked
Can I print my own label with the tracking number in my own layout? No. The label layout is a template with a verified barcode geometry. If your packing line needs a different layout, ask support: the label template is editable in the back office and the change applies to every merchant.
One parcel, several boxes. How many labels? One parcel is one label. If the shipment is physically several boxes, book them as separate parcels so each box can be scanned, tracked and delivered on its own.
The PDF says queued and nothing downloads.Label rendering runs on the worker, so a large batch takes a few seconds. The document list at /m/documents shows every request with its state, and the file downloads from there when it is ready.
