Lahore delivery zones: where the city ends and extended starts
Lahore has two zones and the difference is a flat PKR 50 per parcel, added once. Here are the eleven named points where the city ends, and the six ways a parcel gets its zone.
Lahore has two delivery zones in our tariff, and the difference between them is a flat PKR 50 per parcel. Not a percentage, not per kilo, and not applied twice on a heavy parcel. One flat addition, once, on standard and express alike.
What follows is exactly where the boundary runs, how a parcel is assigned to a zone, and what happens when an address does not resolve cleanly.
The eleven points where Lahore City ends
The extended area starts beyond these named points. They are the tariff's own list, not an approximation.
- 01Ferozepur Road, beyond Central Park
- 02Raiwind Road, beyond Bahria Orchard
- 03Multan Road, beyond Mohlanwal
- 04Canal Road, beyond Bahria Town
- 05Canal Road, beyond Jallo Park
- 06G.T. Road towards Kala Shah Kaku, beyond Rachna Town
- 07G.T. Road towards Wagah, beyond Manawan
- 08Begum Kot, beyond Begum Kot
- 09Sagian Road, beyond Green Land Swimming Pool
- 10Barki Road, beyond Lahore School of Economics
- 11Bedian Road, beyond Dera Chahal
All eleven are drawn on the coverage map as named markers. The line joining them is indicative and we say so plainly, because a straight line between two points on a road network is not a boundary. The authoritative decision is which zone polygon a delivery address falls inside.
What the zone costs you
Inside Lahore City, standard is PKR 180 for the first half kilo and PKR 40 for each additional half kilo. In the extended area the same parcel carries PKR 230 and then the same PKR 40 steps, because the surcharge is added once rather than compounding.
Express works identically: PKR 250 and PKR 50 inside the city, PKR 300 and the same PKR 50 steps in the extended area. Courier charges in Lahore carries the full table at every half kilo.
How a parcel gets its zone
The zone is resolved server-side and frozen into the parcel's charge snapshot at booking, along with the zone name and the rate card version. It is never accepted from a client and never inferred later from the address text.
There are six ways a zone gets settled, in order of preference:
- You drop a map pin when you book. Most accurate, and the zone is confirmed
- The address geocodes into a zone. Confirmed
- You name the area and nothing else resolved. Provisional, and the quote is shown as indicative
- Nothing resolved at all, so the city default applies. Provisional
- The back office assigns it from the geo review queue. Confirmed
- The warehouse confirms it at the inbound scan. Confirmed
A pin is optional. Most sellers do not have one, and requiring it would block bookings for no good reason.
What happens with a provisional zone
A provisional parcel is marked as such on the order, raises an item in the geo review queue inside the same transaction that books it, and shows the same state to you on your own order list. The quote reads as indicative rather than final, the figure is prefixed with "About", and the panel says plainly that the extended area adds a flat PKR 50 once the area is confirmed.
You are never shown a number that looks final when it is not, and a parcel is never silently charged at city rate because nobody checked.
One case that is refused rather than marked
If an address geocodes successfully and lands outside every service zone, the booking is refused. That is a coverage decision rather than a missing detail: it means we do not serve that location, and accepting the parcel would mean accepting work we cannot do.
An address that simply fails to geocode is different and is accepted as provisional. The distinction matters: one is "we do not go there", the other is "we cannot tell yet".
The backstop at delivery
A delivery is never blocked because a zone was never confirmed. Stranding a rider at a door over a data problem created at booking would be operationally hostile, so the parcel is delivered, flagged, and reported on an exposure figure the back office works through. The charge posted is the one on the parcel at the time.
That is a deliberate trade: we would rather carry a known, reported shortfall than refuse a customer a parcel over a missing pin.
If you are near a boundary
Write the address well. A vague address near one of the eleven points is exactly the case that lands in geo review, and a parcel in geo review is a parcel waiting on a human. A block or phase plus a landmark usually resolves it at booking instead. Writing a Lahore delivery address a rider can find covers what to include.
And if you want certainty on what a specific address will cost, the published tariff carries the terms and the pricing calculator takes the zone as an input so you can price both cases.
Booking in Lahore starts at PKR 180 for the first 0.5 kg. Work out your own figure before you commit.
