Courier charges in Lahore: what you actually pay per parcel

PKR 180 for the first half kilo inside Lahore City, PKR 40 per additional half kilo, tax included. The full table, the three things that make a charge higher than expected, and what you are never charged for.

A standard parcel inside Lahore City costs PKR 180 for the first half kilo and PKR 40 for every additional half kilo. That figure includes sales tax and the fuel adjustment, so nothing is added later. Express or same-day opens at PKR 250 and steps by PKR 50. An address in the extended area adds a flat PKR 50 once, regardless of weight.

That is the whole rate card. What follows is what those four numbers actually mean for a parcel in your hand, where the extra cost comes from when a charge surprises you, and what you are not charged for.

What each half kilo costs

Read each line as chargeable weight, then Lahore City, then the extended area, then express, then express into the extended area.

  • Half a kilo: PKR 180, PKR 230, PKR 250, PKR 300
  • One kilo: PKR 220, PKR 270, PKR 300, PKR 350
  • 1.5 kg: PKR 260, PKR 310, PKR 350, PKR 400
  • 2.0 kg: PKR 300, PKR 350, PKR 400, PKR 450
  • 2.5 kg: PKR 340, PKR 390, PKR 450, PKR 500
  • 3.0 kg: PKR 380, PKR 430, PKR 500, PKR 550
  • 3.5 kg: PKR 420, PKR 470, PKR 550, PKR 600
  • 4.0 kg: PKR 460, PKR 510, PKR 600, PKR 650
  • 4.5 kg: PKR 500, PKR 550, PKR 650, PKR 700
  • 5.0 kg: PKR 540, PKR 590, PKR 700, PKR 750

The table stops at 5 kg; the rates do not. An 8 kg parcel is sixteen half-kilo units, so Lahore City is PKR 180 plus fifteen steps of PKR 40, which is PKR 780. There is no cap and no separate heavy band.

It is not a rate per kilo, and the difference is large

At half a kilo you are paying PKR 360 a kilo. At 5 kg you are paying PKR 108 a kilo. The first unit carries most of the cost, which has one practical consequence: splitting one order across two parcels almost always costs more than sending one. Two 1 kg parcels are PKR 440. One 2 kg parcel is PKR 300.

Where a surprising charge comes from

Three things, in order of how often they catch sellers out.

The box, not the contents

If the scale weight is 5 kg or less and you supplied dimensions, the charge is worked on the larger of the scale weight and the dimensional weight. Dimensional weight is length by width by height in centimetres divided by 5000. A 40 by 30 by 20 cm box weighing 3 kg has a dimensional weight of 4.8 kg, which rounds up to 5 kg and costs PKR 540. Chargeable weight versus actual weight works that through in detail.

Rounding, which only ever goes up

Chargeable weight rounds up to the next half kilo, never to the nearest. A 2.001 kg parcel is charged as 2.5 kg. An exact 2.000 kg parcel is charged as 2.0 kg, because a precise multiple does not round up. One gram is worth PKR 40 at the boundary.

The zone

The flat PKR 50 depends on where the address falls, not on the weight. Eleven named points mark where Lahore City ends: beyond Central Park on Ferozepur Road, beyond Bahria Orchard on Raiwind Road, beyond Mohlanwal on Multan Road, beyond Bahria Town and beyond Jallo Park on Canal Road, beyond Rachna Town and beyond Manawan on G.T. Road, beyond Begum Kot, beyond Green Land Swimming Pool on Sagian Road, beyond Lahore School of Economics on Barki Road, and beyond Dera Chahal on Bedian Road. The coverage map draws them out.

What you are not charged for

Charges apply only to parcels that were successfully delivered. A collection the rider could not complete, a refusal at the door, a parcel cancelled after the attempt threshold and returned to you: none of them carry a delivery charge.

There are exactly two exceptions and the published tariff states both. A parcel opened at the door under an allow-to-open arrangement and refused because the item was not as specified is chargeable by weight. A cancellation the seller caused after handover is chargeable by weight. Both need evidence and both are applied by the back office rather than automatically.

Express, and the cut-off that decides it

Express or same-day is PKR 250 for the first half kilo and PKR 50 per additional half kilo, with the extended-area PKR 50 applying on top exactly as it does on standard. The condition is the one most sellers trip over: the parcel has to be collected before 13:00. Book it at two in the afternoon and it is a next-day parcel at a same-day price, which the booking screen refuses rather than accepting. Same-day versus next-day in Lahore sets out when the premium is worth paying.

When the charge becomes final

A quote is indicative. The charge that reaches your statement is computed from the weight and dimensions recorded at our Gulberg warehouse, against the rate card version that was live on the day you booked. A new rate card never reprices a parcel booked before it, and merchants are told before a change takes effect.

If you want to start shipping, the merchant signup form is the entry point. Our team makes contact to onboard you; credentials are issued after that rather than automatically.

Booking in Lahore starts at PKR 180 for the first 0.5 kg. Work out your own figure before you commit.
